At Youth Ministry Conversations, we believe you know your group best. This means our resources look a little different than what you may have experienced in the past. This resource takes some work on your part to put together (it’s how we keep the costs down). We hope you will find opportunities to make this resource work for your group in ways we could never anticipate.
The beginning of the school year is a great opportunity for growth and change. This time allows students to start off with their best effort toward their studies and classwork. This is also a prime opportunity for personal and spiritual growth. Students using this devotional will be able to visualize and work toward the person God wants them to be. In this year’s devotional box, students are given a variety of pray practices to help them deal with stress from life and school. There are also many activities that encourages them to notice the affirmation from those closest to them. Students can often retreat into their old patterns and relationships. This devotion asks them to widen their scope and be aware of the presence of God in all things.

About the Writer
Charles Conkin is the Associate Pastor of Central Baptist Church. Charles has been a part of the pastoral staff since 2013. He brings a fresh perspective to the issues of many progressive Baptist congregations. Charles finished his Master of Divinity degree from Truett Seminary at Baylor University in 2008. He then served as Minister to Youth at Lake Shore Baptist Church in Waco, TX for several years before coming home to the bluegrass. He enjoys cycling, cooking and keeping up with pop-culture, but usually spend most of his days chasing his two year old daughter, Evelyn.
