This Study:
The stories of the Old Testament are filled with exquisite stories of wisdom, faith, defiance, power, and spirituality. You might wonder – what could anything written thousands of years ago about kings who lived thousands of years ago have to do with us? Well, that is a good question, and there’s one sure way to discover an answer – to read 1 Kings! In reading excerpts from 1 Kings, we will reflect together on how our understanding of spirituality provides implications for the way we live. We will study closely the characters of 1 Kings, like Solomon, Jezebel, and Elijah, to better uncover their place in the greater narrative of the Bible. What can these characters, their stories, and their relationship with God tell us about OUR relationship with God? Let’s find out together!
